Pois likes: the pop colours of this Viana heart drawing print. This drawing has been made by Lis Gonçalves. She is a self taught Portuguese artist born in South Africa. When Lis explains her work, she says that she puts Portuguese symbols on paper and artistically colours them “through the eyes of a child”. For our part, we would simply say that her drawings are “happy and joyful”. For the little story, the symbol of the heart comes from Viana de Castelo region (north of Portugal) and used to be part of the traditional costumes (scarf) and filigree jewels. It is also the national icon of Portugal.
